Benchmark indices ended at fresh record closing high despite late volatility. The 30-share BSE Sensex was up 242.95 points at 35,324.77 and the 50-share NSE Nifty gained 34.80 points at 10,823.30.
About three shares declined for every share rising on the BSE.
Among midcaps, Mindtree rallied 9 percent after stellar earnings performance. Firstsource Solutions gained 3 percent.
