Nifty ends above 11,400, Sensex jumps 537 points; auto stocks rally.

Sensex and Nifty rallied over 1 percent each, closing near their day's high level on May 17 ahead of exit poll of Lok Sabha election 2019.
At close, the Sensex was up 537.29 points at 37930.77, while Nifty was up 150.10 points at 11407.20. About 1381 shares have advanced, 1112 shares declined, and 140 shares are unchanged. 
Zee Entertainment, Bajaj Finance, Bajaj Finserv, Hero Motocorp and Maruti Suzuki were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers include Yes Bank, Dr Reddy Labs, Vedanta, Hindalco and Infosys.
Among sectors, auto and FMCG index gained 2.5 percent followed by bank and Infra, while selling witnessed in IT, metal and pharma sectors.
HEADLINES OF THE DAY
Bajaj Auto Q4 result: Two-wheelers major Bajaj Auto has reported 20 percent jump in its fourth quarter standalone net profit (Q4FY19) at Rs 1,305.6 crore. Revenue of the company jumped 9 percent at Rs 7,395 crore.
Dr Reddy Laboratories Q4: Dr Reddy Laboratories has reported 44 percent jump in its Q4FY19 net profit at Rs 434.4 crore against Rs 302.2 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
CESC Q4: Standalone net profit up 9.2% at Rs 309 crore versus Rs 283 crore, revenue down 7.7% at Rs 1,662 crore versus Rs 1,801 crore, YoY>
IOC Q4: Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) has reported Q4FY19 net profit at Rs 6,099 crore on the back higher operating income. The company had reported net profit of Rs 716.8 crore in the quarter ended December 2018.
Arvind Q4: Consolidated net profit down 41.3% at Rs 64 crore, revenue up at Rs 1,859.4 crore.

Nifty ends above 11,250, Sensex gains 278 pts; IT, metal stocks in focus.

Last hour surge help the benchmark indices to close near day's high level with Nifty finished above 11,250 level.
At close, the Sensex was 278.60 points at 37,393.48, while Nifty was up 100.10 points at 11,257.10. About 1155 shares have advanced, 1296 shares declined, and 149 shares are unchanged. 
Zee Entertainment, BPCL, UltraTech Cement, IOC and Bajaj Finance were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Yes Bank, Bharti Airtel, IndusInd Bank, Coal India and Cipla.
Except pharma, all other sectoral indices ended higher led by IT, metal, energy, bank, auto, FMCG and infra.
HEADLINES OF THE DAY
JSW Energy Q4: Consolidated net profit at Rs 3.9 crore versus Rs loss of Rs 483.1 crore, revenue up 8.4% at Rs 1,924 crore versus Rs 1,775 crore, YoY.
Hindalco reported a 17.9 percent YoY decline in net profit at Rs 506 crore, against Rs 616 crore in Q4FY18. The revenue of the Aditya Birla Group company is up 6.6 percent at Rs 12,455 crore, compared to Rs 11,687 crore in the year-ago period.
Media stocks are trading in the positive, up 1.08 percent on Nifty. Zee Entertainment is the biggest winner, trading 4.67 percent high, while Den Networks is the biggest loser, down 4.13 percent on Nifty.

The benchmark indices ended lower in the volatile trading on May 15 with Nifty closed below 11,150 mark.
At close the Sensex was down 203.65 points at 37114.88, while Nifty was down 75.80 points at 11146.20. About 980 shares have advanced, 1542 shares declined, and 174 shares are unchanged. 
Yes Bank, Tata Motors, Zee Entertainment, JSW Steel and IndusInd Bank were the top losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Bajaj Finance, Eicher Motors, UPL, IOC and Bajaj Finserv.
Among the sectors, metal index slipped 2 percent followed by auto, infra, pharma, FMCG and bank.
HEADLINES OF THE DAY
Jubilant Foodworks has reported 8.6 percent jump in its fourth quarter (Q4FY19) net profit at Rs 73.9 crore. Revenue of the company rose 11 percent at Rs 865 crore against Rs 780 crore.
PSU banks were trading in the negative, down 1.29 percent on Nifty. Union Bank of India was the biggest loser, down 9.39 percent, while Jammu & Kashmir Bank was the biggest gainer, adding 2.67 percent on Nifty
Bajaj Finance, Mahindra & Mahindra and Eicher Motors were among top gainers. Yes Bank, Tata Motors and Zee Entertainment were among the biggest losers. 
As for sectoral indices, All except Media, Metal and PSU banks were in the green. Media is the biggest loser, down 3.19 percent, while Financial Services were the biggest gainer, up 0.51 percent.

Indices snap 9-day losing streak, Sensex gains 227 pts; PSU banks rally.

Benchmark indices closed in the green after falling for nine consecutive sessions. Sensex was up 227 points at 37,318.53, while Nifty closed at 11,222, up 73.80 points. About 1223 shares have advanced, 1260 shares have declined, and 132 shares are unchanged.
Sun Pharma, Bharti Airtel, Indiabulls Housing and Vedanta were among top index gainers, while TCS, Tech Mahindra, HCL Technologies and Bajaj Finance were among the top losers on the index. 
Except IT that fell over 1 percent, all sectoral indices were trading in the green. PSU Bank is the biggest gainer, surging about 3 percent. 
Nifty Midcap 100 was up 80 points at 16737.25, while Nifty Smallcap 100 was at 6,142.80, up 43 points.
HEADLINES OF THE DAY
Jet Airway's temporary suspension leaves over 750 slots vacant at domestic airports in the country. The Slot Allocation Committee has allocated nearly 480 of Jet's slots to other airlines.
SpiceJet has been allotted the most slots at 130 followed by IndiGo, which received 125 slots. Vistara was the third biggest gainer at 110 slots, while GoAir, AirAsia India got around 40-45 slots.
Siemens Q2 profit jumps 28% to Rs 280cr
Bharti Airtel has scrapped Rs 299 postpaid plan. Postpaid plans will now start from Rs 349/399
Edelweiss Financial Services reported a 3.3 percent fall in Q4 profit at Rs 232.40 crore, against Rs 240.40 crore in March 2018. Revenue of the company rose 13.8 percent at Rs 2,936 crore compared to Rs 2,581.20 crore in the year-ago period.
Tata Steel Ltd and Thyssenkrupp AG's decision to cease efforts on their proposed Europe joint venture is marginally credit negative for Tata Steel, said S&P Rating.

Late selling in the market drags Nifty below 11,150 level and Sensex by 372 points in today's trading session.
The Sensex was down 372.17 points at 37090.82, while Nifty was down 130.70 points at 11148.20. About 639 shares have advanced, 1826 shares declined, and 157 shares are unchanged. 
Eicher Motors, Zee Entertainment, Sun Pharma, Indiabulls Housing and Yes Bank were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Titan Company, Bharti Infratel, Tech Mahindra, HDFC and HUL.
On the sectoral front, major selling was seen in the PSU Bank and Pharma as both the indices closed with 4 percent cut, followed by metal, auto, energy and infra.

ITC Q4 results: FMCG major ITC has reported 18.7 percent jump in its Q4FY19 net profit to Rs 3,482 crore on the back of strong sales from the FMCG and cigarette units.
OBC Q4 results: Net profit at Rs 201.5 crore versus Rs loss of Rs 1,650.2 crore, YoY. Gross NPA at 12.66%, while net NPA at 5.93%, QoQ.
Inox Leisure Q4: Consolidate net profit down 16.7% at Rs 48 crore against Rs 57.7 crore, revenue up 48% at Rs 479 crore versus Rs 323.6 crore, YoY.
Automotive Axles Q4: Net profit up 5.9% at Rs 30 crore against Rs 28.3 crore, revenue up 2.6% at Rs 481 crore versus Rs 469 crore, YoY.
India VIX, the measure of volatility, is up about 3 percent to 26.33. 
The Tata Motors Group global wholesales in April 2019, including Jaguar Land Rover, were at 79,923 nos., lower by 22%, over April2018.
HDFC Q4: Net profit at Rs 2,861.6 crore. HDFC has informed the Exchange that Board of Directors at its meeting held on May 13, 2019, recommended Final Dividend of Rs 17.50 per equity share.

The market registered eighth consecutive day fall on May 10 with Nifty ended below 11,300.
At close, the Sensex was down 95.92 points at 37,462.99, while Nifty was down 22.90 points at 11,278.90. About 1187 shares have advanced, 1270 shares declined, and 162 shares are unchanged. 
Tata Steel, HCL Tech, Yes Bank, IndusInd Bank and IOC were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers include Zee Entertainment, Titan Company, Bharti Airtel, SBI and Indiabulls Housing.
Metal, IT, pharma, energy, FMCG and auto witnessed selling pressure, while some buying seen in the banks and infra sectors. Midcap and smallcap index ended with marginal gains.

Dilip Buildcon Q4: Net profit rose 1.2% at Rs 219.9 crore against Rs 217 crore, revenue at Rs 2,571 crore versus Rs 2,558 crore, YoY.
SBI Q4 result: State Bank of India (SBI) has reported Q4FY19 net profit at Rs 838.4 crore against loss of Rs 7,718 crore in a year ago period.

It is another weak closing for the Indian stock market as benchmark indices finished lower for seventh straight day. Nifty broke the 11,300 level during intraday and touched a low of 11,255.05.
At close, the Sensex was down 230.22 points at 37558.91, while Nifty was down 57.70 points at 11301.80. About 1074 shares have advanced, 1370 shares declined, and 150 shares are unchanged. 
Top losers on the Nifty were Reliance Industries, BPCL, Coal India, Asian Paints and NTPC, while gainers include Zee Entertainment, Yes Bank, Bajaj Finserv, Bajaj Finance and Hero Motocorp.
Among sectoral indices metal, infra, energy, pharma and bank ended in red, while some buying seen in the IT and FMCG.

JSW Steel April production: April crude steel production up 2% at 13.93 lakh tonnes against 13.61 lakh tonnes. Rolled products (Flat) production down 1 percent at 9.53 lakh tonnes versus 9.67 lakh tonnes, while Rolled products (Long) production up 4 percent at 3.36 lakh tonnes versus 3.24 lakh tonnes.
Asian Paints Q4: Consolidated net profit at Rs 487 crore versus Rs 496 crore, revenue up 11.7% at Rs 5,018 crore versus Rs 4,492 crore.
Hindustan Media Ventures Q4: Net profit falls 59% at Rs 16.5 crore versus Rs 40.3 crore, revenue up 5.3% at Rs 213 crore versus Rs 202 crore, YoY.
Maruti Suzuki April production: Company's April production was down 9.6% at 147,669 units against 163,368 units, YoY.

The Sensex has closed below 38,000, while Nifty also break below 11,350 during intraday.
At close, the Sensex was down 487.50 points at 37789.13, while Nifty was down 138.40 points at 11359.50. About 685 shares have advanced, 1778 shares declined, and 148 shares are unchanged.

Late selling drags Sensex 324 pts, Nifty ends a tad below 11,500.

The late selling pulled Nifty50 below its crucial support of 11,500, dragged by Reliance Industries, ICICI Bank, ITC, IOC and Tata Motors which fell 2-4 percent.
The BSE Sensex closed at 38,276.63, down 323.71 points and Nifty50 fell 100.35 points to 11,497.90.
However, Infosys, HUL, L&T, Wipro, ONGC and Titan Company bucked the trend, rising 1-2 percent.
The broader markets also caught in bear trap. The Nifty Midcap index lost 1.2 percent and Smallcap index fell 1 percent.
All sectoral indices closed in the red barring IT. Nifty Bank, Metal and Realty were prominent losers, falling over a percent each.

VIP Industries Q4 Profit Falls 28% :- Luggage and travel accessories maker VIP Industries reported a 28 percent year-on-year degrowth in March quarter profit due to weak operating performance.
Tata Motors April UK sales: JLR UK sales up 11.5% at 8,295 units, Jaguar UK sales up 8% at 2,607 units and Land Rover UK sales up 13% at 5,688 units, reported CNBC-TV18.
Yes Bank acquires 12.79% in CG Power: Yes Bank has acquired 8,00,50,000 equity shares of CG Power and Industrial Solutions having nominal value of Rs 2 per share, constituting 12.79% of the paid-up share capital via invocation of pledge of shares of CG Power.
