Closing Bell: Nifty ends below 11,350, Sensex sheds 305 points; metal stocks gain, Bajaj Finserv falls 5%.



Benchmark indices reported third straight session loss on July 22 but ended off day's low with Nifty below 11,350 level.
At close, the Sensex was down 305.88 points at 38,031.13, while Nifty was down 73.10 points at 11, 346.20. About 816 shares have advanced, 1680 shares declined, and 155 shares are unchanged. 
Bajaj Finserv, HDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, HDFC Bank and Eicher Motors were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Yes Bank, Vedanta, Hindalco Industries, Zee Entertainment and Indiabulls Housing.
Among sectors, Banks and FMCG indices ended 1 percent lower, while buying seen in the metal, pharma, energy, IT and auto. On the other hand, midcap index was down 0.6 percent, while smallcap index shed 1%.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY

GSK Pharma Q1: Net profit rose 35% at Rs 113.5 crore versus Rs 84.1 crore, revenue up 7.1% at Rs 788 crore against Rs 735.7 crore. EBITDA up 21.9% at Rs 165.3 crore and margin was at 21%, YoY.
Benchmark indices are recovered from the day's low with Nifty hovering around 11350 level.

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 11480 and above this 11600 Support for the immediate term is now placed at 11200 next support will be 11060.

Closing Bell: Late sell-off drags Sensex 318 pts, Nifty below 11,600; Yes Bank tanks 13%.


Benchmark indices fell sharply in late trade as US-China trade worries dragged global peers. All sectoral indices ended in red with PSU Bank, Auto and Metal falling 2.5-3 percent.
The BSE Sensex was down 318.18 points at 38,897.46 and the Nifty50 fell 90.60 points to 11,596.90. More than two shares declined for every share rising on the BSE.
The broader markets fell more than benchmark indices as the Nifty Midcap was down 1.7 percent and Smallcap index 1 percent.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY

Results to be announced on July 19
Reliance Industries, RBL Bank, Dhanuka Agritech, Mahindra CIE Automotive, JM Financial, Phillips Carbon Black, Dabur India, L&T Technology Services, ICICI Lombard General Insurance Company, Bhageria Industries, Hindustan Zinc, L&T Finance Holdings, InterGlobe Aviation and Bandhan Bank will declare their June quarter earnings on July 19.
The Indian rupee depreciated 14 paise to trade at around 68.96 against the US dollar.
IDFC First Bank said India Ratings revised outlook on senior debt to negative and reaffirmed rating at AA+.
City Union Bank said board approved raising upto Rs 500 crore through QIP.

Closing Bell: Nifty gains for 3rd day but fails to hold 11,700; Midcap index underperforms.


Benchmark indices continued to gain for third consecutive session with the Nifty reclaiming 11,700 level intraday, driven by banks, FMCG and IT stocks.
The BSE Sensex was up 84.60 points at 39,215.64 and the Nifty50 rose 24.90 points to 11,687.50 while Nifty Bank gained 165 points.
But the market breadth was in favour of bears as about 1,350 shares declined against 1,099 advancing shares on the BSE.

ICICI Lombard General Insurance said Vishal Mahadevia resigned as Non-executive, Independent Director of the company.
Housing finance firm Home First Finance Company (HFFC) is mulling worth Rs 1,500-crore initial public offer, reports suggest.
Kotak Mahindra, Indiabulls Housing, HCL Technologies were the biggest gainers, while Yes Bank, ONGC and Eicher Motors were the top losers.
Yes Bank fell nearly 9 percent from day's high of Rs 108.40 intraday on caution ahead of June quarter earnings due later today.

Last hour buying pushes Sensex in positive territory; Nifty above 10,900.

Sharp buying in last hour helped equity benchmarks end the session with gains of 0.20 percent. The Nifty ended above 10,900.
Barring IT segment, all sectoral indices ended in the green. Major gainers included automobiles, banks, energy, metals and pharma, among others.
At the close of market hours, the Sensex was up 77.01 points or 0.21% at 36347.08, and the Nifty up 20.30 points or 0.19% at 10908.70. The market breadth was positive as 1416 shares advanced, against a decline of 1117 shares, while 160 shares were unchanged.
Sun Pharma, Vedanta, and Bajaj Finance gained the most, while Infosys, Wipro, ZEE and UPL were the top losers.

The chief of India's capital market regulator on Tuesday expressed concerns about the slow pace of initial public offerings (IPOs) hitting the market despite approval for filings worth around 600 billion rupees ($8.43 billion).
Equity benchmarks recovered sharply in the last hour, with the Nifty hitting 10,900-mark.
Skipper has secured new orders of over Rs 150 crore for 2500 numbers of Telecom Towers from various telecom operators.
Mindtree has been awarded the, Digital Testing Services Framework II contract and will continue as the BBCas lead application testing partner for a range of its digital products.

Benchmark indices ended the volatile session on positive note on Thursday with Nifty ended below 10,800 level.
The Sensex was up 150.57 points or 0.42% at 35929.64, while Nifty was up 53.90 points or 0.50% at 10791.50. About 1470 shares have advanced, 1055 shares declined, and 135 shares are unchanged.

It’s a green close for the market on Tuesday, with the Nifty ending well above 10,650-mark.
A rally among PSU banks, energy names as well as IT boosted the market. In the broader market, the Nifty Midcap index ended over half a percent higher.

At the close of market hours, the Sensex ended up 159.06 points or 0.45% at 35513.14, while the Nifty was higher by 57.00 points or 0.54% at 10685.60. The market breadth was narrow as 1238 shares advanced, against a decline of 1320 shares, while 161 shares were unchanged.
Infosys, TCS, and BPCL were the top gainers, while Sun Pharma and Hero MotoCorp lost the most.

Punjab National Bank shares gained 2.5 percent after the lender expects Rs 2,500 crore recovery from Essar Steel resolution.
Zydus Cadila gets USFDA approval: Zydus Cadila has received the final approval from the USFDA to market Baclofen Tablets, 10 mg and 20 mg. It will be manufactured at the group’s formulations manufacturing facility at Baddi.

Lupin gets EIR from USFDA: The company has received EIR (Establishment Inspection Report) on the completion of an inspection by the USFDA (United States Food & Drug Administration) at its facility in Tarapur, Maharashtra.
USFDA approves ANDA filed by Granules Pharma.

Jet Airways salary payment: PTI reported that Jet Airways will pay the remaining 25 percent September salary to its senior staff early next month and is likely to come out with a revised payment schedule soon, a source at the airline said.

Sensex ends flat, Nifty below 10,400; midcaps see strong trade

First session of November 2018 began on a subdued note, with the Nifty ending below 10,400-mark.
Banks were the gainers during the session, while infrastructure and metals rose during trade as well. Pharmaceuticals, IT, and consumption names were the big losers in trade today. However, there was some outperformance in the broader markets, with the Nifty Midcap index rising a percent.

At the close of market hours, the Sensex closed down 10.08 points or 0.03% at 34431.97, while the Nifty ended lower by 6.10 points or 0.06% at 10380.50. The market breadth is positive as 1,590 shares advanced, against a decline of 990 shares, while 124 shares were unchanged.
Yes Bank, Axis Bank, and Hindalco were the top gainers, while Infosys, NTPC, HCL Tech and Dr Reddy’s Labs lost the most.

                                           The market continued to be in bear trap as benchmark indices remained under pressure amid further weakness in rupee and Italy's Budget plan woes.

The 30-share BSE Sensex fell 192.02 points to 36,334.12 and the 50-share NSE Nifty declined 65.10 points to 1,0943.20.

The BSE Midcap index traded lower by 0.7 percent but Smallcap index gained half a percent on positive market breadth. About 1,359 shares advanced against 908 declining shares on the BSE.

                                       A sharp selloff has gripped the market in the past few minutes. The Sensex has fallen nearly 200 points, while the Nifty is trading near 11,000-mark.

With regard to the regulatory framework for permitting foreign entities, having actual exposure to Indian commodity market, to participate in the domestic commodity derivative market, Sebi said that such entities would be classified as Eligible Foreign Entities (EFEs).

Reacting to the new rules, domestic brokerage firms, Motilal Oswal maintains a buy on MCX and with a target price of Rs 1000, which translates into an upside of about 27 percent from current levels.

Global Market:

•    Asian markets: Asian markets are higher today as Japanese and Hong Kong shares show gains. The Nikkei 225 is up 1.52% while the Hang Seng is up 1.17%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.

•    US Markets: The stock market may be getting it wrong by rallying in the face of new U.S.-Chinese tariffs.

•    European markets: European markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices. The DAX gained 0.51% and the CAC 40 rose 0.28%. The FTSE 100 lost 0.03%.
