Closing Bell: Nifty ends below 10,950, Sensex falls 623 pts; RIL up 9%, Yes Bank falls 10%.


After holding on the gains in the first half, the market gave up all its intraday gains in the second half and ended near day's low with Nifty finished below 10,950.
At close, the Sensex was down 623.75 points at 36,958.16, while Nifty was down 183.80 points at 10,925.90. About 870 shares have advanced, 1621 shares declined, and 144 shares are unchanged. 
Yes Bank, M&M, UPL, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Indiabulls Housing, Reliance Industries, Sun Pharma, GAIL and Hindalco Industries.
Among sectors, except energy (up 1.9 percent), all other indices are ended in the red led by the infra (down 3.6 percent), auto (down 4 percent), PSU bank (down 2.6 percent) followed by metal, pharma, IT and FMCG. BSE Midcap index slipped 2.2 percent, while BSE smallcap index shed 1.4 percent.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY

Sun Pharma Q1 result: Company's consolidated net profit rose 31 percent at Rs 1,387.5 crore against Rs 1,057.3 crore, while revenue up 16 percent at Rs 8,374.4 crore against Rs 7,224.2 crore, YoY.
Motherson Sumi falls nearly 10% on dismal Q1 result: Share price of Motherson Sumi Systems fell nearly 10 percent on August 13 after company reported dismal numbers for the quarter ended June 2019.
Bosch Q1 result: Net profit was down 35 percent at Rs 280 crore against Rs 431 crore, revenue was down 13.5 percent at Rs 2,779 crore against Rs 3,212 crore, YoY.
Sun TV Network hits 3-year low: Shares of Sun TV Network fell more than 4 percent to hit fresh three-year low on August 13 as global brokerages slashed price target on the stock after weak earnings in Q1.

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 11200 and above this 11460 Support for the immediate term is now placed at 10800 next support will be 10660.

Closing Bell: Nifty ends above 11,100, Sensex up 254 pts; Yes Bank tanks 7%, Indiabulls Housing surges 14%.


Indian indices ended higher for second consecutive day but off day's high on August 9 with Nifty holding above 11,100 level.
At close, Sensex was up 254.55 points at 37,581.91, while Nifty was up 77.20 points at 11,109.70. About 1521 shares have advanced, 952 shares declined, and 151 shares are unchanged. 
Indiabulls Housing, Eicher Motors, Maruti Suzuki, Bajaj Finserv and Titan Company were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were Yes Bank, Cipla, Hindalco Industries, Tech Mahindra and Coal India.
Among sectors, IT, metal, PSU bank and pharma witnessed selling pressure, while buying seen in the auto, FMCG and energy sectors.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY

Cadila Healthcare fell post Q1 numbers: Shares of Cadila Healthcare fell more than 1 percent on August 9 after company's consolidated net profit was down 34 percent at Rs 303.6 crore against Rs 460.5 crore, while revenue was up 20.8 percent at Rs 3,496.3 crore against Rs 2,893.7 crore, YoY.
MRF Q1 result: Consolidated net profit rose 3 percent at Rs 273.3 crore against Rs 260.7 crore, revenue up 16.5 percent at Rs 4,471 crore versus Rs 3,836.3 crore, YoY.
Bank of Maharashtra reviewed marginal cost of funds based lending rates (MCLR) with effect from August 8, 2019.
Shree Cement Q1 Earnings :- Company's profit increased 36.8 percent to Rs 382.3 crore and revenue grew by 7.6 percent to Rs 3,302.8 crore compared to year-ago.
Hindalco Industries started off the financial year on a weak note by reporting a massive 29 percent year-on-year fall in June quarter consolidated profit due to global downturn and lower commodity prices amid trade tensions.

Closing Bell: Nifty ends around 10,950, Sensex gains 277 points; Indiabulls Housing surges 7%.


Benchmark indices finished on positive note but off day's high in the volatile session on August 6.
At close, the Sensex was up 277.01 points at 36,976.85 while Nifty was up 85.70 points at 10,948.30. About 1622 shares have advanced, 810 shares declined, and 115 shares are unchanged. 
Indiabulls Housing, Yes Bank, Tech Mahindra, Bajaj Finance and Eicher Motors were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers include Zee Entertainment, Cipla, Reliance Industries, Power Grid Corp and TCS.
Among sectors, except energy other indices ended in the green led by the infra, auto, bank, metal and FMCG.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY

REC gains 3% post Q1 nos: Company's Q1 net profit up 2.3% at Rs 1,501.3 crore against Rs 1,468.2 crore, revenue up 10.6% at Rs 6,986 crore against Rs 6,318 crore, YoY.
Titan Company Q1 standalone net profit up 6%: Titan Company has registered 6.2 percent jump in its Q1FY20 standalone net profit at Rs 370.7 crore against Rs 349.2 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
JSW Energy Q1: Consolidated net profit was up 6.6 percent at RS 244.4 crore against Rs 229.2 crore, revenue was up 2.2 percent at Rs 2,412.2 crore versus Rs 2,360.6 crore, YoY.
Pidilite Industries has reported 22.7 percent surge in its Q1 net profit at Rs 292.9 crore versus Rs 238.7 crore, revenue was up 10 percent at Rs 2,016.8 crore versus Rs 1,834 crore, YoY.
Shares of Arvind touched 52-week low of Rs 52.50, falling 6 percent on August 6 after company's Q1c net profit fell 59.7 percent at Rs 24.1 crore against Rs 59.8 crore, revenue was up 4.8 percent at Rs 1,896.5 crore versus Rs 1,809.6 crore, YoY.

Sensex gains 300 pts, Nifty above 10,100 led by SBI,

                                             Benchmark indices are trading on strong note with Nifty hovering around 10,100 level and Sensex gains 200 points.

The Sensex is up 197.66 points at 33546.97, while the Nifty is up 60.50 points at 10090.50. About 1385 shares have advanced, 647 shares declined, and 1584 shares are unchanged.

Global Market:

Asian markets: Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a positive opening for the broader index in India, a rise of 56 points or 0.56 percent. Nifty futures were trading around 10,103-level on the Singaporean Exchange.

US Markets: But for some on Wall Street, the third-quarter GDP report released on Friday was the latest in a string of mixed signals that show the economic expansion has peaked and could start slowing as early as next year.

European markets: European markets finished broadly lower on Friday with shares in France leading the region. The CAC 40 is down 1.29% while Germany's DAX is off 0.94% and London's FTSE 100 is lower by 0.92%.

                                        Benchmark indices extended their morning gains with Sensex and Nifty are trading higher with 2 percent gains.

The Sensex is up 693.67 points at 34694.82, while Nifty is up 214.90 points at 10449.60. About 1812 shares have advanced, 419 shares declined, and 1204 shares are unchanged. Barring IT index, all other sectoral indices are trading in green with maximum gain seen in the auto, metal, and energy space.

Global Market:

Asian markets: Asian markets are lower today as Japanese and Hong Kong shares fall. The Nikkei 225 is off 0.45% while the Hang Seng is down 0.60%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.

US Markets: US share markets sink as sell-off continues.

European markets: European markets finished sharply lower today with shares in London leading the region. The FTSE 100 is down 1.94% while France's CAC 40 is off 1.92% and Germany's DAX is lower by 1.48%.

                                         There has been a smart recovery in the market from its low points, with the Sensex trading over 450 points lower. The Nifty is back above 10,300-mark.

State Bank of India, Tata Steel, and Indiabulls Housing were the top losers, while Yes Bank, ONGC and HPCL have gained the most.

The Sensex is down 476.24 points or 1.37% at 34284.65, while the Nifty is lower by 141.30 points or 1.35% at 10318.80. The market breadth is negative as 765 shares advanced, against a decline of 1,535 shares, while 1109 shares were unchanged.

Global Market:

Asian markets are lower today as Japanese and Hong Kong shares fall. The Nikkei 225 is off 3.89% while the Hang Seng is down 3.86%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.

Dow futures imply a more than 330-point loss at Thursday's open, as stock market rout continues.

European markets finished sharply lower today with shares in Germany leading the region. The DAX is down 2.21% while France's CAC 40 is off 2.11% and London's FTSE 100 is lower by 1.27%.

Sensex at day's high, Nifty around 11,550; L&T up 6%, midcap gains

Indian Indices:  
                                        Strong start for the D-Street, following positive global cues as Nifty surpassed 11,500 for the first time, while the Sensex is up around 150 points.

Among sectors, barring IT index all other sectoral indices are trading higher led by metal, bank, energy, infra and pharma. The Nifty Midcap index is also up over half a percent.

At 09:16 hrs IST, the Sensex is up 154.63 points or 0.41% at 38102.51, and the Nifty up 41.40 points or 0.36% at 11512.20. About 688 shares have advanced, 243 shares declined, and 57 shares are unchanged.

Infosys shed 3 percent on CFO resignation, while shares of Yes Bank, RIL, Future Retail are among major gainers. L&T surged 4 percent as board to consider buyback on August 23.

Global Market:

Asian markets: Asian markets are lower today as Japanese and Hong Kong shares fall. The Nikkei 225 is off 0.18% while the Hang Seng is down 0.54%. The Shanghai Composite is not trading.

US Markets: U.S. and China officials are reportedly working on a plan to hold talks to end a trade dispute between the two countries that would result in meetings between Trump and Xi at a summit in November, according to the Wall Street Journal.

European markets: European markets finished mixed as of the most recent closing prices. The FTSE 100 gained 0.03%, while the DAX led the CAC 40 lower. They fell 0.22% and 0.08% respectively.

•    Asia shares inch up with yuan, wary on Sino-US talks.

•    The upcoming week will see a new entrant getting listed on the exchanges. CreditAccess Grameen will be listed on bourses  after having a successful initial public offering (IPO) issue.

                                           Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a positive opening for the broader index in India, a rise of 44.5 points or 0.39 percent. Nifty futures were trading around 11,322-level on the Singaporean Exchange.After a weak two sessions, equity benchmarks on Friday morning have started the day on a good note.

At 09:15 hrs IST, the Sensex is up 182.90 points or 0.49% at 37348.06, while the Nifty is up 60.40 points or 0.54% at 11305.10. The market breadth is positive as 451 shares advanced, against a decline of 96 shares, while 41 shares are unchanged.

All sectoral indices are trading in the green, with gains in pharma, metals, energy and auto names, while midcaps have seen a strong start as well. The Nifty Midcap index is up over 0.6 percent.

Nifty IT underperforms dragged by Infosys, TCS; HDFC Bank; Dr Reddy's Labs most active

The broader indices are trading on a negative note this Thursday morning with the Nifty shedding 52 points at 10,804 and the Sensex is down 162 points at 35,576.
Nifty IT was trading in the red, dragged by Tata Consultancy Services, Infosys, Tech Mahindra and Mindtree.

The most actively traded stocks on the NSE were HDFC Bank, TCS, Tata Steel, PC jeweller and Dr Reddy's Labs.Some of the top gainers on BSE were JP Associates, MMTC, PC Jeweller, NALCO and Sintex Industries.
Bandhan Bank, GSK Pharma, MM Forgings and NALCO were the few stocks that hit fresh 52-week highs in the morning trade.
The benchmark Sensex rose over 84 points while the Nifty reclaimed the 10,800-mark as investors looked forward to release of key macroeconomic data due today amid a firming trend in Asia.
The 30-share BSE Sensex went up 84.35 points, or 0.23 %, to 35,567.82. The gauge had gained 39.80 points in the previous session.
Optimistic buying in blue-chip stocks ahead of IIP data for April and CPI inflation for May, to be released after market closing today, lifted stocks higher.

Nifty likely to open flat, Stocks in the news: NCC, Infosys, Idea, M&M, Fortis

                  The Nifty50 is expected to open flat on Friday following muted trend seen in other Asian markets. The index closed 121 points higher at 10,736 on Thursday. Trends on SGX Nifty indicate a flat opening for the broader index in India, a gain of 4.5 points or 0.04 percent. Nifty futures were trading around 10,720.50- level on the Singaporean Exchange. The Indian economy grew 7.7 percent in January-March, the fastest in nearly two years, signaling quick turnaround aided by rapid construction activity, consumer spending and corporate investment.

Global Market:

Asian markets- Japanese shares are higher today as the Nikkei 225 gains 0.27%. The stock markets in Hong Kong and Shanghai are closed at this time

US Markets: The Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 251.94 points, or 1.02 percent, to 24,415.84, the S&P 500 lost 18.74 points, or 0.69 percent, to 2,705.27 and the Nasdaq Composite dropped 20.34 points, or 0.27 percent, to 7,442.12.

European markets- European markets finished broadly lower on Thursday with shares in Germany leading the region. The DAX is down 1.40% while France's CAC 40 is off 0.53% and London's FTSE 100 is lower by 0.15%.

The Indian equity benchmark indices are likely to open higher;

Indian Indices:

The Indian equity benchmark indices are likely to open higher today tracking positive cues from other Asian peers and rally on the Wall Street overnight. Further, positive trend in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for April delivery, which were trading at 10,472, up by 4 point or 0.04, at 11:26 AM Singapore time, signalled a flat to higher opening for the domestic equity bourses.

All sectoral indices are in the green, with the Nifty IT, Metal, Auto, Pharma, Bank and Realty gaining up to 0.7 percent. Benchmark indices extended previous day's gains, following positive lead from Wall Street and macro data, as investors await Infosys Q4 earnings due later in the day. China's trade surplus with the United States surged 19.4 percent on-year in the first quarter, data showed today, as trade tensions between the world's two largest economies simmer.

Global Market:

Major Asian markets are trading with a positive bias at present, Nikkei is up 0.82%, Hang Seng is up 0.48%, while Shanghai Composite is trading 0.28% higher.

US Markets: Stocks witnessed a positive rally offsetting the weakness seen in the previous session. The Dow rallied 1.2% to 24,483.05, the Nasdaq gained 1% to 7,140.25 and the S&P 500 climbed 0.8% to 2,663.99. The rally on Wall Street was witnessed after US President Donald Trump sought to downplay concerns about an attack on Syria. "Never said when an attack on Syria would take place. Could be very soon or not so soon at all!" Trump said in a post on Twitter.

European markets also ended in the green yesterday with the FTSE closing 0.02% higher, CAC ended up 0.59%, while the DAX managed to end 0.96% higher.
