Closing Bell : The final hour recovery helped the Nifty to close around 11,000 level and Sensex above 37,000


At close, the Sensex was down 462.80 points at 37,018.32, while Nifty was down 138 points at 10,980. About 830 shares have advanced, 1587 shares declined, and 147 shares are unchanged. 

Vedanta, JSW Steel, Hindalco Industries, SBI and Tata Motors were among major losers on the Nifty, while gainers were Wipro, Bharti Infratel, Maruti Suzuki, Reliance Industries and Power Grid Corp.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY

TVS Motor July auto sales: The total sales fell 13 percent at 2.79 lakh units against .21 lakh units. The two-wheeler sales down 13.7% at 2.65 lakh units against 3.07 lakh units, YoY.

Motorcycles sales down 10.7% at 1.08 lakh units versus 1.21 lakh units and scooter sales down 11% at 1.05 lakh units against 1.18 lakh units. Total exports down 3.1 percent at 69,994 units against 72,242 units, YoY. 

The crucial resistance for Nifty spot is now seen at 11100 and above this 11200 Support for the immediate term is now placed at 10800 next support will be 10720 .

    Sensex surges over 300 pts, Nifty ends 9 pts short of 10,500
    India’s stock market closed on a positive note on Friday with Sensex surging over 300 points and Nifty ending just 9 points short of 10,500-mark led by a value-buying in shares of HDFC Bank, RIL, Tata Steel, Sun Pharma, ICICI Bank, ITC, SBI, L&T, TCS, Axis Bank, Yes Bank, HDFC, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Airtel and ONGC. The S&P BSE Sensex amassed 348.1 points to hit a day’s high of 34,167.6 before settling up 322.65 points at 34,142.15 and broader Nifty 50 advanced 116.4 points to hit day’s high of 10,499.1 before ending 108.35 points higher at 10,491.05. Indian equities inched higher on Friday after the five-day long subdued activity under subsumed volatility as volatility indicator — India Vix — declined 4.24% to finish at 14.2025.

    A market-wide buying was seen in the Indian stock markets today as all the sectoral and broader market indices ended in green with Nifty Midcap 50, Nifty Metal and Nifty Pharma rising 2-4% while Nifty 100, Nifty 200, Nifty 500, Nifty Mid100 Free, Nifty Small100 Free, Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services, Nifty IT, Nifty PSU Bank, Nifty Private Bank also advanced up to 2%. Among the ‘A’ group shares of BSE, stocks of JP Associates, Fortis Healthcare, Mindtree, Kaveri Seed Company and Radico Khaitan gained 7-18% while the shares of Jubilant Lifesciences, Vakrangee, Siemens and IIFL plunged 2-11% today.

Day status for today's share market

Sensex rises 100 pts, Nifty above 10,550 in opening; PSU Bank index down 1%;

Indian Indices:

The Indian equity benchmark indices are likely to open on a positive note today tracking firm Nifty futures on the Singapore Stock Exchange
and positive cues from global peers.Bullish trend in the SGX Nifty Index Futures for February delivery, which was trading at 10,547.50, up by 82 points or 0.78%, at 11:22 AM. Singapore time, also signaled a positive opening for the domestic equity bourses. 

On the macro front, focus will be on inflation based on wholesale price index (WPI) for January 2018 due to be released by the government today, 14 February 2018. The banking stocks will remain in focus as the Reserve Bank of India has scrapped various loan restructuring programmers, which may affecting bank’s profitability.

On the Earning front

Ø Stock  focus will be on : Sun Pharma, Allahabad Bank, Balkrishna Industries, Grasim Industries, Nestle India, Apollo Hospitals, Cox & Kings, Dena Bank and Jet Airways, among others will remain in focus as they will announce their third quarter earnings today.

Ø CRISIL reported standalone net profit of Rs 64.22 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2017 as compared to Rs 77.80 crore in 
the same period last year, registering a year­on­year decline of 17.46 percent.

Ø Shipping Corpn. reported standalone net profit of Rs 82.17 crore for the quarter ended December 31, 2017 as compared to Rs 7.25 
crore in the same period last year, registering a year­on­year growth of 1033.38 per cent

Ø The Indian benchmark indices ended higher on Monday, tracking firm cues from Asian peers, on buying by domestic funds ahead of 
inflation data to be released after market hours today.

Global Market:
·       Major Asian markets are trading in the mixed, at present Shanghai Composite is trading 0.19 % lower while Hang Sang is trading up 0.62%. Nikkei is trading down 0.81%.

·       US Markets: Wall Street managed to end yesterday’s session in the green after witnessing weakness in the initial half of the session.

·       European markets closed in the red yesterday with FTSE down 0.13%, CAX was down 0.62% and DAX closed 0.71% lower.

Major Headlines of the day:

·        The Reserve Bank of India today came out with a revised framework for expeditious resolution of bad loans, harmonising the 
existing guidelines with the norms specified in the Insolvency and Bankruptcy Code (IBC).

·        Union minister Piyush Goyal has said that the country's economic growth is likely to cross 7.5 per cent in the next fiscal. 
Commenting on the issue, Union minister Piyush Goyal told the media, "I believe we will close this year upwards of 6.7 per cent.

·        Motherson Sumi Systems will remain in focus as the company reported a consolidated net profit at Rs 561.7 crore for the quarter 
ended December 31, 2017, a 2.63 per cent increase from the corresponding period of last financial year’s net profit.

Trend in FII flows: The FIIs were Net Value of Rs -814.11  the cash segment Monday while the DIIs were Net Value of Rs 1342. as per the provisional figures.

On Monday, Nifty opened the session on a positive note and thereafter, it traded in narrow range for the most part of the trading session, however, buying interest was seen in the half an hour of trading session and Nifty closed near day’s high. INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX FALLS 72.22 POINTS, NIFTY AT 7713.05

The domestic equity indices extended losses and were trading over half a per cent lower on Friday tracking weak start to European markets.
The S&P BSE Sensex has traded about 150 points lower. The gains in ITC, L&T and Asian paints were offset by index heavyweights such as HDFC, Bharti Airtel, Tata Motors, M&M, TCS, and SBI.
The Nifty50 today tested its crucial level of 7,700 on the day 1 of April futures and options series. 
At the end Sensex closes below 72.22 points and Nifty 25.35 points down to 7713.05.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX RALLIES 333 POINTS, NIFTY 50 RECLAIMS 7700

The S&P BSE Sensex surged 333 points to reclaim its crucial psychological level of 25,000 on Monday, led by gains in ITC, HDFC, and ICICI Bank.
The Nifty50 breached its crucial mark of 7,700, supported by gains in consumer durable, realty, banks, auto, and oil & gas stocks. 
The broader market rallied in line with the benchmarks, with the BSE midcap and small cap indices gaining 1.40 and 1.36 per cent, respectively, for the day. A sharp rise in the Chinese market, gains seen on Dow Jones futures and positive trading in European markets, boosted the market sentiment.
The rupee continued its winning streak for the fourth session by rising 4 paisa to 66.46 against the US dollar on Monday, despite mixed cues from Asian currency markets.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX RALLIES OVER 350 POINTS, NIFTY 50 RECLAIMS 7450.

The S&P BSE Sensex surged over 350 points in Thursday's trade, led by gains in Infosys, HDFC, RIL, HDFC Bank, and Tata Motors.
The Nifty50 reclaimed its crucial level of 7,450 supported by gains in IT, metal, auto, oil & gas, and power stocks. The broader market traded in line with benchmark indices with the BSE midcap and small cap indices rising 0.40 and 0.34 per cent, respectively. 
Meanwhile, shares of Tata Steel surged over 3 per cent in early trade.

Extending its recent rise, the rupee appreciated 15 paisa to 67.39 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday, tracking positive trading in most Asian market currencies. The domestic currency had closed at 67.54 against the greenback in the preceding session.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX CRASHES 379 POINTS, NIFTY 50 HOLDS 7100 

Domestic equity benchmark crashed on Tuesday to snap a four-day winning streak after Moody's Investors Service said India's fiscal metrics would remain weaker than its peers in the near term even if Finance Minister Arun Jaitley sticks to the fiscal consolidation roadmap. 
Also, a fresh slump in crude oil prices dragged equity markets down the world over and while at home concerns rose over Government’s ability to support PSU Banks.
With just three more sessions left ahead of the Union Budget, investors looked nervous amid mixed signals about what Finance Minister Arun Jaitley may have in store for the B-Day, which dragged the 30-pack Sensex down as much as 379 points.
