INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX ENDS DOWN 300 POINTS, NIFTY 50 TESTS 7450

The S&P BSE Sensex slipped over 300 points in trade on Thursday bucking the largely positive cues from other Asian markets as investors resorted to profit booking post a five-day rally.

The Nifty50 came under pressure to trade below its key support level of 7,450, supported by gains in realty, power, oil & gas, consumer durable, and auto stocks. The broader market traded outperformed the benchmark indices with the BSE midcap and BSE small cap indices slipping 0.37 and 0.30 per cent, respectively. Shares of Just Dial surged over 6 per cent in early trade while those of Infosys slipped over 2 per cent. The market breadth was positive with seven of every ten BSE stocks trading in the green.

The crucial resistance for Nifty SPOT is now seen at 7550 and above this 7634. Support for the immediate term is now placed at 7405 and next support will be 7380.

INDIAN EQUITY MARKET WRAP UP- 9 Mar 2016


Nifty ends at 7532, Sensex up 135 pts; Maruti, Reliance gainers

The Sensex ended up 134.73 points or 0.6 percent at 24793.96, and the Nifty was up 46.50 points or 0.6 percent at 7531.80. About 1386 shares advanced, 1207 shares declined, and 129 shares are unchanged.

Maruti, L&T, ONGC, HUL and Reliance were top gainers while Hindalco, HDFC, Adani Ports, Cipla and Wipro.

Technical rebound in the global equities could continue,  The key factor this month has been the driving oil prices, which now stand at USD 40 per barrel,

Nifty holds 7500, Sensex stable- 8 Mar 2016


The market is still on an uptrend with a good support from auto, healthcare, metals and Oil & gas. The Sensex is up 84.97 points or 0.3 percent at 24731.45 and the Nifty is up 23.00 points or 0.3 percent at 7508.35. About 1369 shares have advanced, 766 shares declined, and 125 shares are unchanged.

Hindalco, GAIL, Tata Motors, Adani Ports and Lupin are top gainers while SBI, HUL, ICICI Bank, Maruti and Infosys are losers in the Sensex.

Stock Market Trading Tips

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: India stocks higher at close of trade; Nifty 50 up 0.13%

India stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Metals, Public Sector Undertakings and Banking sectors led shares higher. At the close in NSE, the Nifty 50 added 0.13%, while the BSE Sensex 30 index climbed 0.16%.The best performers of the session on the Nifty 50 were Punjab National Bank (NS:PNBK), which rose 5.06% or 4.00 points to trade at 83.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (NS:BHEL) added 4.16% or 4.30 points to end at 107.60 and Vedanta Ltd (NS:VDAN) was up 4.11% or 3.45 points to 87.40 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were HCL Technologies Ltd (NS:HCLT), which fell 2.78% or 23.90 points to trade at 835.40 at the close. Idea Cellular Ltd (NS:IDEA) declined 2.49% or 2.70 points to end at 105.65 and Tech Mahindra Limited (NS:TEML) was down 2.27% or 10.50 points to 451.25.
The top performers on the BSE Sensex 30 were Vedanta Ltd (BO:VDAN) which rose 4.24% to 87.25, Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BO:BHEL) which was up 4.03% to settle at 107.25 and Coal India Limited (BO:COAL) which gained 3.30% to close at 325.20.


The crucial resistance for Nifty SPOT is now seen at 7487 and above this 7515. Support for the immediate term is now placed at 7405 and next support will be 7367.

Tech Mahindra’s subsidiary Mahindra Comviva has launched IRIS, the newest addition to its Revenue Plus suite - a monetization platform for CSPs. Comviva explains that Incremental Revenues through Incremental Sales (IRIS) unifies retailer and subscriber recharge processes by providing a seamless, congruent and concurrent recharge experience to both the parties. IRIS gives the flexibility of treating each customer and retailer differently and rewards their unique combination at various levels of the upgrade.

• Asian Paints operations at paints plant in Rohtak restarts

Asian Paints operations at its paints plant in Rohtak restarts; operation was closed for just 10 days – don’t expect any material impact on sales. Asian Paints operations at its paint Plant situated at Rohtak, Haryana, have restarted. The unit has manufacturing capacity of 2 lakh kilo litre per annum. Since the operation were closed from February 22nd 2016, the company loss the production for just 10 days. We don’t expect it to have any material impact on the sales and earnings of the company.

• RComm: Disagreement with TPG group over valuation of tower assets

Reliance Communications: Disagreement with TPG group over valuation of tower assets, valued tower assets at Rs15000 crore vs earlier valuation of 21500 crore, negative read-thru. As per media news, TPG and Tillman Global Holdings LLC have signalled that they view the assets as worth about Rs15,000 crore, including debt, after conducting due diligence on Reliance Communications Ltd’s tower assets, down from the R.21,500 crore proposed earlier in the negotiations. Reliance Communications said that the bidders have not reduced the enterprise value for the tower business by that amount

• Cipla: Delays and lack of clarity are growing concerns

Cipla: Delays and lack of clarity on launch timeline of inhalers in US market are growing concerns. Event: Mylan recently announced that its abbreviated new drug applications (ANDAs) for fluticasone propionate 100, 250, 500mcg and salmeterol 50mcg inhalation powder have been accepted for filing by the US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA). The USFDA has provided Mylan a goal date of March 28, 2017 (meaning if the product is approved under a standard review period, generic Advair could be launched in 2017). Mylan has now become the third generic player to file for generic Advair after Sandoz and Hikma.

Stock Market Trading Tips

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX RALLIES OVER 350 POINTS, NIFTY 50 RECLAIMS 7450.

The S&P BSE Sensex surged over 350 points in Thursday's trade, led by gains in Infosys, HDFC, RIL, HDFC Bank, and Tata Motors.
The Nifty50 reclaimed its crucial level of 7,450 supported by gains in IT, metal, auto, oil & gas, and power stocks. The broader market traded in line with benchmark indices with the BSE midcap and small cap indices rising 0.40 and 0.34 per cent, respectively. 
Meanwhile, shares of Tata Steel surged over 3 per cent in early trade.

Extending its recent rise, the rupee appreciated 15 paisa to 67.39 against the US dollar in early trade on Thursday, tracking positive trading in most Asian market currencies. The domestic currency had closed at 67.54 against the greenback in the preceding session.

The Environment Ministry has considered the application based on the recommendations of the Expert Appraisal Committee (Industry-I) and decided to grant environment clearance (EC) to the proposal for expansion of crude steel production at Tata Steel Works.

Shares of Indian auto major spurted over 6% to Rs337 on NSE after its Jaguar Land Rover February 2016 US Retail volumes came up by 25.3% YoY to 7,929 units; positive for Tata Motors
Jaguar volumes were up 7.2% YoY to 1,512 units.
Land Rover volumes for the month were up by 30.5% YoY to 6,417 units, on the back of sustained demand for the refreshed line of SUV’s.

Nifty Tips

The Sensex rising 183.31 points or 0.76 percent to 24426.29 and the Nifty climbing 52.40 points or 0.71 percent to 7421.25.

Hindalco, Tata Motors, Tata Steel, SBI, HDFC, PNB and Vedanta rallied 1-2 percent while ICICI Bank and GAIL fell on profit booking.

The Indian rupee has climbed further as it opened with a gain of 14 paise on today at 67.40 per dollar.
