INDIAN BENCHMARKS: BANK RALLY LIFTS MARKET BY 464 POINTS, NIFTY 50 TOPS 7365.

Top domestic lenders helped extend the post-Budget rally in equities for the second consecutive day on Wednesday, when the BSE S&P Sensex surged as much as 491 points to top the 24,000 mark. 
SBI and ICICI Bank, Adani Ports (up 5.96 per cent), Hero Moto Corp (up 4.99 per cent) and BHEL (up 4.91 per cent) were among the top five gainers. 
The NSE's Nifty50 closed at 7,368.85, up 146.55 points or 2.03 per cent. Along with SBI and ICICI Bank, Bank of Baroda (up 7.25 per cent) and PNB (up 6.5 per cent) were the top gainers in the Nifty50, where the advance-decline ratio stood at 41:9.

HCL Tech bags 5-year IT outsourcing services contract
HCL Tech has signed a five year IT Outsourcing contract with Husqvarna AB, a leading manufacturer of outdoor power products including robotic mowers, garden tractors, chainsaws and trimmers.
HCL Tech has been providing application management services to Husqvarna and with this deal; HCL will now provide end–to–end integrated infrastructure and applications services, covering data center services, network services, security services, applications operations and support services.

Hero MotoCorp surges on sharp February 2016 volumes
Shares of Hero MotoCorp surged over 6% to Rs2814 on NSE post February 2016 dispatch volumes which came up by 13.7% YoY to 550,992 units.
Hero MotoCorp dispatch volumes for the month were up by 13.7% YoY to 550,992 units.
The growth is dispatch nos comes despite of an impact on the production due to the Jat agitations in the month of February 2016.

BHEL rallies on winning order worth Rs5600 crore
Shares of BHEL surged 7% to Rs98.75 on NSE on the reports that the company has bagged order worth Rs5600 crore to set up main plant package for coal based 1600MW (super critical project) from Tamil Nadu state utility.

Bajaj Auto falls on below than estimate Feb 2016 sales
Shares of Bajaj Auto fell 2% to Rs2221 on NSE post February 2016 volumes which grew by 12.1% YoY at 272,719 units but were below our estimates. Bajaj Auto Ltd motorcycle volumes for the month were up 8.9% YoY at 235,282 units.
Three wheeler volumes for the month were up 37.4% YoY to 37,437 units. Overall exports for the month were down 12.7% YoY at 98,595 units

IRB Infra drops as Government cancels Zoji La award
Shares of IRB Infrastructure dropped over 2% to Rs218 on NSE in an otherwise strong markets after the Government cancelled giving Zoji La award to the company which is sentimentally negative as the visibility of the order book will decline sharply by 38% YoY. Ended the session at 225.6 later.

Equity benchmarks continued to rally with the Sensex rising 408.51 points

Stock Market Tips

The Nifty climbing 120.30 points or 1.67 percent to 7342.60.

The broader markets outperformed benchmarks with BSE Midcap and Smallcap indices gaining 2 percen each. The market breadth was strong as more than seven shares advanced for every shares declining on the Bombay Stock Exchange.

ICICI Bank and SBI were leading contributors to Sensex's gains, up 6-9 percent. Hindalco also gained 6 percent and BHEL was up 6.5 percent on order worth Rs 5,600 crore in Tamil Nadu.

HDFC, HDFC Bank, Axis Bank, Reliance Industries, L&T, Hero and Adani Ports were up 1-5 percent.

Mahindra & Mahindra slipped over 2 percent on profit taking. Wipro and TCS lost half a percent as rupee recovered sharply in three trading sessions.

Coal India declined 0.4 percent as its February offtake dropped to 45.5 MT compared to target of 47.13 MT and production was down to 51.01 MT against target of 52 MT.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS: SENSEX ZOOM 777 POINTS, NIFTY 50 RECLAIMS 7200 TO LOG BIGGEST GAIN SINCE MAY 2009

The S&P BSE Sensex surged over 777 points on Tuesday to log its biggest points-wise gains since May 2009.
The Nifty50 reclaimed its crucial resistance level of 7,200. The index surged 235.25 points, or 3.37 per cent, to close at 7222.30. 
The gains in the benchmark indices were led by buying in interest-rate sensitive stocks as the commitment by the FM Arun Jaitley to meet the fiscal deficit target for FY16 raised hopes of a rate cut by the Reserve Bank of India in the near-future. A sharp up move on ITC and positive global cues made sure the domestic market end up as the top-performing Asian market for the day.
The broader market traded in line with the benchmark indices with the BSE midcap and small cap indices rising 3.04 and 3.23 per cent, respectively.

M&M surges after Feb 2016 sales up 15.7% YoY
Shares of Mahindra & Mahindra surged over 3% to Rs1268 on NSE post February 2016 Auto division sales which came up by 15.7% YoY to 44,002 units. Mahindra & Mahindra automotive division volumes in February 2016 were up 15.7% YoY to 44,002 units. The utility vehicles segment volumes were up 27 % YoY to 22,612 units.

Axis Bank rises on buying 4.99% stake in Max Life Insurance
Max Financial Services & Mitsui Sumitomo sells 4.99% stake in Max Life to Axis Bank
Max Financial Services and MSI have collectively sold 9.5 crore or 4.99% equity stake, in Max life (MLIC) to Axis Bank for a cash consideration of Rs10 per share (95.75 crore).
Post the transaction Max Financial Services holds 68% stake in Max Life followed by 25% stake by Mitsui Sumitomo, and 6% by Axis Bank.

Maruti Suzuki spurts post February 2016 volumes
Shares of Maruti Suzuki surged over 6% to Rs3240 on NSE post February 2016 volumes which wer down by 0.9% YoY to 117,451 units but the domestic sales grew marginally which were in line with our estimates.Maruti Suzuki reported a decline of 0.9% YoY in dispatches for the month of February to 117,451 units. Domestic volumes grew marginally by 0.2% YoY to 108,115 units, despite a shutdowns at both the plants. 

Aurobindo Pharma bags approval for Acetylcysteine Injection
Leading pharma company, Aurobindo Pharma Limited has said that it has received final approval from the US Food & Drug Administration (USFDA) to manufacture and market Acetylcysteine Injection, 6g/30 mL (200 mg/mL) single-dose vials. 
The product is expected to be launched in Q1 FY16-17. The approved ANDA is bioequivalent and therapeutically equivalent to the reference listed drug product (RLD) Acetadote® Injection, 6 g/30 mL, of Cumberland Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

BEML jumps on Rs900 crore Kolkata Metro order
Shares of BEML jumped over 3% to Rs976 on NSE on back of reports that the company has bagged a order valued at Rs900 crore for the supply of Metro Coaches to Kolkata East-West Metro Line-positive.

  1. Big focus on agriculture and farmers’ welfare
– Farmers’ income to be doubled by 2022.
– 28.5 lakh hectares will be brought under irrigation under Pradhan Mantri Krishi Sinchai Yojana.
89 irrigation projects, requiring Rs. 86,500 crore in next five years, to be fast tracked. 23 of these projects to be completed before 31st March, 2017.
– Dedicated Long Term Irrigation Fund will be created in NABARD with initial corpus of Rs. 20,000 crore.
– Total outlay on irrigation including market borrowings is R. 12,157 crore.

Major program for Sustainable Ground Water management proposed for multilateral funding at a cost of Rs. 6,000 crore.

Changes in FDI Policy.

– Guidelines for strategic disinvestment have been approved and will be spelt out.
– Individual units of CPSEs can be disinvested to raise resources for investment in new projects.
– In the financial sector, a comprehensive Code on Resolution of Financial Firms will be enacted. Together will the Bankruptcy and Insolvency Law, this will fill a major systemic vacuum. This is a big reform measure.
– SARFAESI Act to be amended to strengthen Asset Reconstruction Companies. This will help in dealing with stressed assets of Banks.
– Public Sector Banks (PSB) – (a) Recapitalization of PSBs; (b) roadmap to be spelt out for consolidation of PSBs; (c) considering reduction of Government equity in IDBI Bank to 49% of below; (d) DRTs to be strengthened with computerized processing of court cases.
– General Insurance Companies will be listed in stock exchanges for improving transparency, accountability and efficiency.
– Comprehensive Central legislation to deal with Illicit Deposit Taking schemes will be enacted.

  2. Technology Driven Platform for Government procurement of goods and services will be set up by DGS&D. This will improve transparency, efficiency and reduce cost of procurement.
