Nifty ends January series above 10,800; Sensex surges 665 points.

Benchmark indices extended their morning gains with Nifty hovering near 10,800 level, while Sensex up over 500 points.
The Sensex is up 537.65 points at 36128.90, while Nifty is up 142.10 points at 10793.90.
Infosys, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Axis Bank, IndusInd Bank and HDFC are the top gainers on the Sensex.

LG Balakrishnan Q3 result: Net profit up 30% at Rs 29.2 crore versus Rs 22.5 crore. Revenue up 21.5% at Rs 409.4 crore versus Rs 337 crore, YoY.

Sundaram Finance Q3 result: Net profit down 2.6% at Rs 156.5 crore versus Rs 160.6 crore, revenue up 18.9% at Rs 846 crore versus Rs 711.8 crore.
Board of Directors of HDFC Bank have approved the appointment of MD Ranganath as an additional independent director of the bank for a period of five years effective from today i.e. January 31, 2019.
Dabur India Q3 result: Consolidated net profit at Rs 366 crore, revenue at Rs 2,199 crore.

Benchmark indices closed flat in volatile session on Wednesday with Nifty finished just above 10,650 level. 
At the close, the Sensex was down 1.25 points at 35591.25, while Nifty was down 0.40 points at 10651.80. About 1361 shares have advanced, 1109 shares declined, and 159 shares are unchanged. 
ICICI Bank, Tata Steel, Axis Bank, HCL Tech and SBI are the top gainers, while Bajaj Auto, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Yes Bank, HDFC and Reliance Industries are among major losers on the Sensex
Among the sectors energy, FMCG and pharma witnessed some selling pressure, while buying seen in bank, IT and metal stocks.

JSW Energy Q3: Consolidated net profit was at Rs 146.1 crore against Rs 47 crore, revenue up 21% at Rs 2,421.7 crore.
Bajaj Auto Q3 result: Two-wheeler major has registered 15.7 percent growth in its Q3 net profit at Rs 1101.9 crore against profit of Rs 952.44 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Revenue of the company at Rs 7409.4 crore 
IOC Q3 standalone net profit at Rs 716 crore, revenue at Rs 1.60 lakh crore.

Benchmark indices has made strong comeback from the lows with Nifty finished just above 10,650 level.
At the close of market hours, the Sensex was down 64.20 points at 35592.50, while Nifty was down 9.30 points at 10652.20. About 1144 shares have advanced, 1346 shares declined, and 140 shares are unchanged. 
Adani Ports, Bharti Infratel, Bajaj Finserv, Cipla and Sun Pharma are the top gainers on the Nifty, while top losers include Eicher Motors, GAIL, Yes Bank, HPCL and L&T.
Among the sectors, pharma, IT and FMCG index helped to market recovery, while some selling pressure seen in auto, bank and energy space.

Himadri Chemicals Q3 result: Net profit up 20 % at Rs 84 crore against Rs 70 crore, revenue up 17.3% at Rs 586.7 crore versus Rs 500.1 crore, YoY.
Kansai Nerolac result reaction: Company's shares fell 1 percent as Q3 net profit fell 10% at Rs 113 crore, while revenue up 18% at Rs 1,350.7 crore.
Bajaj Finance Q3: Net profit at Rs 1,022.7 crore, NII at Rs 3,209 crore. Net NPA at 0.62 percent and Gross NPA at 1.55 percent.
CLSA on TTK Prestige: Retain buy with target at Rs 9,000 per share. Company remains one of preferred picks in the midcap space. The operating leverage helped deliver a 26-quarter high margin.
HDFC Q3 result: Net profit down 14 percent at Rs 2,113.8 crore, revenue up 3 percent at Rs 10,450 crore.
Ramco Cements Q3: Net profit down 17.6 percent at Rs 101.1 crore, revenue up 14.6 percent at Rs 1,210.4 crore.
SBI is likely to own 15% stake in Jet Airways after debt switch, reported CNBC-TV18 quoting agencies.

Sensex ends 368 points lower, Nifty below 10,700; Zee Ent surges 15%.

Benchmark indices slipped 1 percent but off day's low with Nifty finished below 10,700 level, while Sensex closed 368 points lower.
The Sensex was down 368.84 points at 35656.70, while Nifty was down 119 points at 10661.50. About 618 shares have advanced, 1933 shares declined, and 133 shares are unchanged. 
Zee Entertainment, Bharti Infratel, TCS, Coal India and L&T are the top gainers on the Nifty, while Adani Ports, Indiabulls Housing, Yes Bank, Bajaj Finance and Bajaj Finserv are among major loser on the Nifty.
Among the sectors pharma index lost 2.5 percent, while metal, auto, bank, energy, FMCG and Infra lost 1 percent each. Meanwhile, IT index has provided some support as it gained 0.5 percent.
BSE midcap and smallcap index lost nearly 2 percent each.

Zensar Technologies Q3 result: Net profit was up at Rs 12.1 crore against Rs 0.3 crore. Revenue at Rs 34 crore versus Rs 8.9 crore, YoY.
Audit of Dr Reddy's API manufacturing plant at Miryalaguda (Nalgonda District), by the USFDA, has been completed and issued a Form 483 with one observation.
Wockhardt Q3 result: Consolidated net loss at Rs 71.1 crore against loss of Rs 40.8 crore. Revenue up 4% at Rs 1,046 crore versus Rs 1,005.3 crore, YoY.
RBL Bank Q3 result: Net profit up 36% at Rs 225.2 crore, NII up 40% at Rs 655.1 crore. Gross NPA at Rs 695.5 crore and net NPA at Rs 358.2 crore.
Canara Bank Q3 result: Net profit at Rs 317.5 crore, gross NPA at 10.25 percent, net NPA at 6.37 percent.
Edelweiss Financial Services shares fell over 6 percent intraday after global brokerage house Credit Suisse downgraded the stock to neutral from outperform, citing higher provisioning cover.

Indian indices erased all its morning gains and ended lower on Friday with Nifty finished below 10,800 level.
At the close, the Sensex was down 169.56 points at 36,025.54, while Nifty was down 69.30 points at 10, 780.50. About 692 shares have advanced, 1829 shares declined, and 150 shares are unchanged. 
Bharti Infratel, HCL Tech, Bharti Airtel, Cipla and Yes Bank were the top gainers on the Nifty, while Zee Entertainment, Maruti Suzuki, UltraTech Cement, Hero Motocorp and Indiabulls Housing were the top losers on the Nifty.
Among the sectors, auto index slipped over 3 percent followed by bank, FMCG, infra and metal index. BSE midcap and smallcap stocks also finished lower with more than 1 percent cut.

Indian Bank Q3: Net profit down 49.7 percent at Rs 152.3 crore versus Rs 303.1 crore, NII up 5.8 percent at Rs 1,716.7 crore versus Rs 1,622.7 crore, YoY.
DLF plunged 18%: CBI visited company's major�s offices in Delhi-NCR in connection to a land acquisition matter.
DHFL Q3 result: Net profit down 36.7% at Rs 313.6 crore, revenue up 12% at Rs 3,250 crore.
Maruti Suzuki Q3 result: Net profit was down 17 percent at Rs 1489.3 crore against profit of Rs 1,799 crore.
MRF signs MoU with Tamil Nadu govt: The company has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Government of Tamil Nadu in connection with Global Investors Meet [GIM], expressing its in-principle intention to invest a sum of Rs 3100 crore, over a ten year period, in a phased manner, in its existing locations at Perambalur, Arkonam and Tiruvottiyur, Chennai (within the State of Tamil Nadu) for manufacture of automotive tyres, tubes and flaps.

Equity benchmarks have ended the day on a positive note, but the Nifty has ended the session below 10,850.
Among sectors, energy, IT and PSU banks were the big gainers, while automobiles and pharmaceuticals saw some pain. 
At the close of market hours, the Sensex was up 86.63 points or 0.24% at 36195.10, and the Nifty up 18.30 points or 0.17% at 10849.80. The market breadth was negative as 938 shares advanced, against a decline of 1,533 shares, while 152 shares were unchanged.
Yes Bank and Reliance Industries were the top gainers, while Tata Motors, Power Grid, and Bharti Infratel lost the most.

Colgate Palmolive Q3 results: The company has reported 2.6 percent rise in its Q3 net profit at Rs 192.1 crore versus Rs 171 crore in the same quarter last fiscal. Revenue was up 6.4 percent at Rs 1,099 crore against Rs 1,033 crore
Reliance Jio launched Rs 594 and Rs 297 long validity prepaid plans for Jio phone users with 168 days and 84 days validity respectively.

Sharp selling weighs on D-Street, Sensex down over 330 points; Nifty below 10,850.

Sharp selling in the last hour dragged indices by around a percent. The Sensex shed over 300 points, while the Nifty fell below 10,850-mark. 
Automobiles, banks, consumption, infra and IT, among others, were the sectoral indices which ended in the red, while metals and pharma were the sole gainers. 
At the close of market hours, the Sensex was down 336.17 points or 0.92% at 36108.47, and the Nifty down 91.30 points or 0.84% at 10831.50. The market breadth was negative as 1069 shares advanced, against a decline of 1,453 shares, while 138 shares were unchanged.
Sun Pharma and Yes Bank were the top gainers, while ITC, M&M and Grasim lost the most.

Rupee Update: The Indian rupee has fallen 15 paise intraday or 0.22% against the US dollar. The currency opened at 71.09 in the morning and is currently trading at 71.28 again the US dollar. 
Diversified Raymond Group reported an increase of 30 percent in consolidated net profit at Rs 39.95 crore for the third quarter ended December 2018.
ITC stock price has fallen about 2.5% after it reported its Q3 result. 
ITC Q3 profit up 4%, margin misses estimates
Cigarette-hotel-to-FMCG major ITC has reported a 4 percent on year growth in profit at Rs 3,209 crore, which was on expected lines but margin missed estimates. Profit in the corresponding quarter of last fiscal stood at Rs 3,090 crore, which included exceptional gain of Rs 413 crore.

It's a negative end for the market, but off the low points as bulls put up a strong fight in the last hour. Shares broke their five-day gaining streak as the Nifty finished below 10,950, while Sensex ended 134 points lower.
The Sensex was down 134.32 points at 36444.64, while Nifty was down 39.10 points at 10922.80. About 941 shares have advanced, 1584 shares declined, and 170 shares are unchanged.
Sun Pharma, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Hero Motocorp, Bajaj Finance and Yes Bank are among major gainers on the Sensex, while top losers are Vedanta, Tata Steel, M&M, Maruti Suzuki and Bharti Airtel.
Among the sector, metal stocks remained under pressure as they ended 2 percent lower, while some buying was witnessed in pharma index led by Sun Pharma, Piramal Enterprises and Aurobindo Pharma.

Rane Madras Q3 result: The company posted net loss at Rs 0.7 crore against profit of Rs 7.5 crore. Revenue was up 6.4 percent at RS 387.2 crore versus Rs 364 crore, YoY.
Reliance Nippon Life declares dividend: The board has also declared an interim dividend of Rs 3 per equity share and has fixed the record date as February 01, 2019.
Asian Paints Q3 result: The company has reported a good growth in consolidated earnings for the quarter ended December 2018 with robust revenue and operational income, but margin performance was subdued due to higher raw material cost.
Result reaction: Shares of Alembic Pharmaceuticals added 3.5 percent after company posted robust numbers for the quarter ended December 2018.
Shree Cements net profit for December quarter fell 10 percent to Rs 301.3 crore from Rs 333 crore that the company posted during the same quarter of last year. 
Havells India reported a net profit of Rs 195.7 crore for December quarter. This implies a jump of 10 percent year on year from Rs 178.62 crore posted last year
TVS MOTOR RESULTS TVS Motor reported a rise of 15 percent (year-on-year) in its net profit for December quarter at Rs 178.4 crore. The company had reported a profit of Rs 154.4 crore during the corresponding quarter of last year.

US FDA had conducted an inspection at the Alkem Lab's manufacturing facility located at Daman, India from January 14 to 18, 2019. At the end of the inspection, no Form 483 was issued.

Axis Bank hits 52-week high: Shares of Axis Bank touched a 52-week high of Rs 678.90 on Thursday. It was quoting at Rs 676.65, up Rs 13, or 1.96 percent on the BSE.
