Market Outlook for the coming week!

In the coming week, outcome of
Q3 December 2016 corporate earnings, global macroeconomic data, trend in global
markets, investment by foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) and domestic
institutional investors (DIIs), the movement of rupee against the dollar and
crude oil price movement will dictate market trend in the near term.
Ø
The next major trigger for the
market is Q3 results of India Inc. Axis Bank and Yes Bank will announce October
- December 2016 quarterly results on Thursday, 19 January 2017. Adani Power and
RBL Bank will announce October - December 2016 quarterly results on Friday, 20
January 2017.
Ø
Among stock specific news,
public sector oil marketing companies (PSU OMCs) will be in focus as these
companies will undertake fuel price revision during the middle of this month.
PSU OMCs undertake fuel price review during the middle and at the end of every
month based on the trend in international oil market in the previous fortnight.
Ø
On macro front, the government
will announce monthly inflation data based on wholesale price index (WPI) for
December 2016 on Monday, 16 January 2017.
Ø
Inflation based on WPI eased
for the third straight month to 3.2% in November 2016 from 3.4% in October
2016.
Ø
the Cabinet committee on
parliamentary affairs recommended holding of the Budget Session from 31 January
2017 when the government is likely to table the Economy Survey followed by the
Union Budget on 1 February 2017.
Ø
Suspense over the date for the
presentation of the Union budget continued after the cabinet secretary
communicated the government's response to the Election Commission's (EC) query
on the budget date clashing with the poll schedule. Elections in Uttar Pradesh,
Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur are to be held between 4 February and 8
March, with the counting of votes scheduled for 11 March, reports added.

On the global front, investors
will look forward to the policies and actions of US President-elect Donald
Trump, whose focus is on creating jobs and increasing spending in the US. If
Trump's policies run into headwinds, then the domestic market may witness
heightened volatility.
