Closing Bell: Nifty ends above 11,900, Sensex up 168 points; IT stocks gain.

Benchmark indices ended higher but off day's high on May 10 with Nifty finished above 11,900 level.
At close, the Sensex was up 168.62 points at 39784.52, while Nifty is up 52 points at 11922.70. About 967 shares have advanced, 1619 shares declined, and 172 shares are unchanged.
Britannia Industries, Tech Mahindra, TCS, Infosys and Dr ReddyĆ¢��s Labs were among major gainers on the Nifty, while losers were BPCL, Yes Bank, Coal India, GAIL and Tata Motors.
Among sectors, except energy and PSU bank all other indices ended higher led by IT, FMCG, pharma, metal and infra.

HEADLINES OF THE DAY
Hero Motocorp received the BS-VI certification for a two-wheeler. The company received the Type Approval Certificate from International Centre for Automotive Technology (ICAT) for the Splendor iSmart motorcycle, after it was successfully tested for compliance to the BS-VI emission norms.
Cipla received EIR from USFDA: This is to inform you that following the inspection by the United States Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) at the Kurkumbh manufacturing facility from March 11, 2019 to March 20, 2019, the company has received the establishment inspection report (EIR), indicating closure of the inspection.
Media and entertainment firm Eros International Media tanked 10 percent on June 10 hitting a record low of Rs 40.95 per share. Short seller Hindenburg Research in a report alleged potential wrongdoing at parent Eros International Plc.
