·  Godrej plans acquisitions for future growth
Godrej Group, which is eyeing acquisitions to fuel growth, Tuesday said it was expecting a 20% compound annual growth rate ( CAGR) by 2020.
The company is targeting a 26% increase in its sales and is in talks to acquire the Darling Group Holdings (DGH), which operates in 14 countries across Africa selling hair extension products.
As part of its growth strategy, the diversified Indian business group has been consistently acquiring firms in the hair care business, a segment where it has products in the hair colour, hair dye, mehendi and hair oil categories.

·  ITC confirms entry into 'Dairy' and 'Juices' category
ITC Ltd announced that the Company's Foods Division, as part of its business portfolio, launches various value added variants to augment its product range. Entry into the 'Dairy' and 'Juices' category are some of such initiatives. We would also advise that the news item under reference seems to paraphrase what has been covered in the Speech delivered by the Chairman at the Hundred and Third Annual General Meeting of the Company held in July 2014.

·  M&M aims to buy stake in Swedish firm
Mahindra & Mahindra is reportedly planning to takeover National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB (NEVS), the holding company that purchased assets of Saab Automobile two years ago, according to documents filed in a local Swedish court. NEVS, which ran into financial difficulties, signed a term sheet with M&M two weeks ago to begin intense negotiations. The Mumbai-based company is one of the two companies that have evinced interest in NEVS. The other company is believed to be of Chinese-origin.

·  Cipla arm sells its stake in Jiangsu
Cipla announced that Meditab Holdings, Mauritius, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Company, has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its entire 48.22% equity interest in Jiangsu Cdymax Pharmaceuticals Co., China (Jiangsu) to an affiliate of one of the other shareholders of Jiangsu, for a total consideration of $ 18.5 million. The closing of the transaction is subject to receipt of applicable regulatory approvals in China.

·  Jaguar to recall over 7,000 vehicles in USA
Jaguar to recall over 7,000 vehicles in USA; negative for the Tata Motors. Jaguar Land Rover ( JLR) will be recalling over 7,000 vehicles in USA related to two separate issues. The company would be recalling 7,000 F-Type models for wiring issue related to the passenger air bag activation module. The company would also be recalling 272 F-Type, XF and XJ sedans for a inspection of the power steering module. While the monetary costs for the recalls would not be very significant, it is sentimentally negative for the brand.

·  RIL forms JV with Chinese textile company Ruyi
Reliance Industries entered into Joint Venture for its Textile business with China’s leading Textile Company called, Shandong Ruyi Science and Technology ( Ruyi) to build on RIL’s existing business and its wide distribution network along with Ruyi’s technology and global reach. The JV will benefit RIL’s brand Vimal and Ruyi’s brand in India, Georgia Gullini and they plan to introduce some of the global brands of Ruyi.

Crude oil futures today fell by Rs 25, or 0.63% to Rs 3,918 per barrel as speculators reduced their exposures, tracking a weak trend in Asian trade.

Zinc prices fell by 0.54% to 137.80 per kg in futures trade today after speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak global trend.

Mentha oil prices ose 0.38% to Rs 715.50 per kg in futures trading today as speculators indulged in creating fresh positions, supported by pick up in demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Nickel prices dropped 0.42% to Rs 1,028.90 per kg in futures trade today on weakening trend at the London Metal Exchange and subdued demand at domestic spot markets.

Sensex, Nifty open in red; Bharti up 2%, Tata Motors falls

The market has opened in red amid global turmoil. The Sensex is down 25.40 points at 27771.61 and the Nifty is down 22.65 points at 8318.05.

About 284 shares have advanced, 267 shares declined, and 31 shares are unchanged.

Bharti is up 2 percent while Dr Reddy's Labs, Wipro, Hero and ITC are top gainers in the Sensex. Among the losers are Tata Motors, SBI, Sesa Sterlite, GAIL and BHEL.

The Indian rupee opened with marginal loss of 8 paise at 61.96 per dollar versus previous day's closing value of 61.88 a dollar.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS, Selling pressure grips market; Correction continues

INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARKS  fell for the second consecutive day on Tuesday, down to their lowest in one month, as investors cashed out tracking a selloff in Chinese markets and hurt blue-chips such as Oil and Natural Gas Corp. The S&P  BSE Se nsex and CNX Nifty ended 1.15%-1.16% lower each.

On Mobile Global hit 5% upper circuit, after the company said its board will meet on December 11, 2014, to consider buyback of shares.

Technofab Engineering rose 2.69% after the company said it won two contracts worth an aggregate Rs262 crore.

Ahluwalia Contracts dropped 5.63% after making preferential allotment of shares to promoters at Rs118 per share, a discount of 42.88% to ruling price.

The crucial resistance for Nifty is now seen at 8510 and above this 8595. Support for the immediate term is now placed at 8355 and next support will be 8220.

Q2FY15 CAD rises to 2.1%
Current account deficit increased to 2.1% in Q2FY15 (largely in line with expectations) from 1.7% in Q1FY15.Going ahead sharp correction in crude oil prices will be a comforting factor on CAD front.

Airline shares surge on infra status hope
Shares of aviation companies such as Jet Airways (India) and Spice Jet have gained up to 6% on the bourses on media reports that the aviation ministry may seek infra status for airlines. Among individual stocks, Jet Airways has rallied 6% to Rs427.0 on BSE. The stock hit a high of Rs438.75, its highest level since October 2013. Since November 25, 2014, the stock rallied 74% from Rs245, due to falling crude oil prices.

Central Bank falls on allotment of shares to LIC
Shares of Central Bank of India fall 2% to Rs79.10 on BSE on plans to allot shares to LIC at Rs75.5 per share -- negative for the stock. Central Bank of India will allot 8.29 crore shares to LIC at a price of Rs75.5 per share which is discount to current market price of Rs80.6.

JSW Steel records crude steel production at 11.07 lakh tonnes
JSW Steel has reported crude steel production for the month of November 2014 at 11.07 lakh tonnes compared to 10.72 lakh tonnes in November 2013, registering a growth of 3%.The production for flat rolled products stood at 8.31 lakh tonnes in November 2014 same as November 2013. The production of long rolled products increased by 29% to 1.86 lakh tonnes in November 2014 compared to 1.44 lakh tonnes in November 2013.

Gold Prices rose sharply by Rs 150 or 0.57% to Rs 26,618 per 10 grams in futures trade today after speculators enlarged positions taking cues from overseas markets.

Silver futures traded 0.54% higher at Rs 37,392 per kg today as participants created fresh speculative positions positions, tracking overnight gains in global markets.

Nickel Prices were down by 0.32% to Rs 1,029.80 per kg in futures trade today after speculators off-loaded their positions, tracking a weak trend in base metals overseas.

Chana Prices were down by 0.45% to Rs 3,080 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators booked profits at existing higher levels coupled with subdued demand in the spot market.

Crude Oil futures fell by 1.22% to Rs 3,885 per barrel today as speculators engaged in reducing their exposures amid a weakening trend in Asian trade where it tumbled to fresh five-year lows owing to weak demand.

The market has opened on a flat note. The Sensex is down 49.13 points at 28070.27 and the Nifty is up 1.05 points at 8439.30. About 313 shares have advanced, 264 shares declined, and 32 shares are unchanged.

Sun Pharma is biggest gainer, up 3 percent in opening trade while Ranbaxy too jumps 3 percent. Wipro, Infosys, TCS and Dr Reddy's are major gainers in the Sensex.

The Indian rupee opened marginally lower at 61.88 per dollar against previous day close of 61.83.

INDIAN EQUITY MARKET OUTLOOK-09 DEC 2014

INDIAN BENCHMARK  are likely to open lower today tracking a bearish trend in most Asian markets and a negative closing at Wall Street overnight as oil prices tumbled.  SGX Nifty is trading 34.50 points lower.

Investors are likely to weigh the bleak current account deficit (CAD) data which showed that India’s current account shortfall widened to USD 10.1 billion or 2.1% of July-September 2014 GDP, the biggest deficit in more than a year as gold imports jumped, raising fresh concerns over the health of Asia’s third biggest economy.

Caution ahead of Friday’s IIP and CPI numbers may also weigh on sentiment.
