INDIAN BENCHMARK extended gains and have started the trading session on a higher note tracking firm global cues. Idea Cellular has opened a QIP issue through which it will offer equity shares worth Rs 3,000 crore.

FURTHER, Reliance Industries open offer to acquire a controlling stake in media conglomerate Network18 Media & Broadcast. Coal India is planning a Rs 10,000-crore joint venture along with GAIL.

Trend in FII flows: The FIIs were net buyers of Rs 192cr in the cash segment on Thursday while the DIIs were net sellers of Rs. 425cr, as per the provisional figures released by the NSE.

INDIAN BENCHMARKS ends at record highs

INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARKS gained momentum in the latter half of the trading session on renewed buying interest to end at record highs, with metal and information technology shares leading the gains.

Further, Reliance Capital Ltd rallied 3 per cent on fund raising plans. It was seeking shareholder approval for private placement of non-convertible debentures (NCDs) and issue of securities to qualified institutional buyers. Piramal Enterprises has acquired 9.99 per cent stake in Shriram City Union Finance for a total of Rs 790 crore.

The crucial resistance for Nifty is now seen at 7500 and above this 7560. Support for the immediate term is now placed at 7360 and next support will be 7320.

INDIAN EQUITY MARKET OUTLOOK-5th JUNE 2014

INDIAN BENCHMARK are likely to see a flat opening with the Nifty poised to retest the 7,400 levels. Attention will be on the European Central Bank (ECB) and whether ECB chief Mario Draghi will repeat his commitment to keeping borrowing costs at present or lower levels.

FURTHER, Avantha Group firm Crompton Greaves will be in spotlight after Global private equity firm KKR is likely to acquire a majority stake in Avantha Power and Infrastructure Ltd.  Idea Cellular Ltd plans to launch a share sale to raise as much as USD 500 million on June 5 to part fund its capital expenditure.

INDIAN EQUITY BENCHMARKS outperformed, rising nearly 2% as investors turned their focus on fundamentally sound mid-cap and small-cap stocks.

Further, IDFC was up 3.82 percent as it will bring down foreign shareholding in company below 50 percent and gives in-principle approval for domestic fund raising. NMDC surged 5.25 percent after it increased iron ore lumps prices for June by 7 percent and iron ore fines prices by 8.6 percent.
